Here is another email that was sent to me and published with permission: ''I had the vet here on Thursday. We had all shots done and she did a general body check, listened to their hearts, looked at their teeth, that kind of thing. I had noticed that Nutella seemed a bit under the weather the last couple of weeks. Just a gradual kind of decline, a bit lethargic, letting me get closer than seemed normal in the field. The vet checked her and said she had a respiratory infection that was probably brought on by the stress of being in a new environment which would have been aggravated by the extreme changes in temperature we have been having weather-wise. In other word her immune system was down. Anyway, she gave her a shot of penicillin and we have been giving her one shot a day. Her last one will be today. She is back to her old self now, very lively, won't let me near her in the field and having a great time rolling in the sandpit. Poor little monkey. But what I really wanted to tell you was this. After the vet checked everybody and did her thing she said to me that the alpacas were in excellent condition. She said they are well-muscled, their weight is terrific, their teeth in very good condition (she says she often sees rotten teeth that must be pulled) and told me I was doing a wonderful job with them. And I thought, no, it's not me that did the wonderful job with them, it's Brigitte and Val. We haven't had them long enough to have had that kind of influence on their health. So the credit goes to you guys for doing such a terrific job with your animals. An animal has some kind of really good karma if they are lucky enough to be adopted by you. Linda''
Just wanted to say thank you to you and the kids for doing such a good job with Twinkle! She's made it home just fine, drank a lot and is so much fun to watch! She's just adorable.. We would all gladly buy an animal a bale of hay or a yummy treat to be able to go back for a visit another time! ;) Your farm is awesome! Good luck with the new addition too.!
