This year (2009) we are going to be renewing and adding yet more unusual birds to the coop.
We have many dual-purpose birds. The term dual-purpose means that the chickens can be used for meat (roosters) and the hens are good layers as well. We will be raising a limited quantity of "meat" chickens. We are also adding some rare and heritage breeds.
As with the rabbits, this is a small production for family and friends , but we are open to orders and may have too many for our needs. These chickens are wholesome: we raise them on grain and free range when possible. The prices are subject to change, 2009 prices are 3.50$/lb.
Breeds that we have include:
Orpington, Rhode Island Red, Cochin, Cuckoo Maran, Naked Neck, Barred Rock, Jersey Giant, Polish, Ameraucanas, Silkies, Brown and White layers, Game hens....
